We know that privacy issues for social media have been in the news. Some are now calling for people to cancel their subscriptions to one social site. But, many of us are sticking with all our social platforms. They have become important to promoting our brand and sharing the power of our voice. How do you use social media? How do you market your brand? I want to make this blog a little different. I will not only share my thoughts, but I would like your feedback. What do you find works best for your company in this new era? We all know social media is an effective form of communication. It’s how and when you use it that will determine the outcome. Are you posting at key times? Do you have engaging content? Are you using video to share the power of your voice?
There are so many resources to assist small business owners. Please do your research and take advantage of the opportunities. The daily grind and hustle of trying to make it all work definitely keep you busy, but you have to find the time to network and apply for bids or projects. Please know that I do try to abide by my advice. I spent several hours for two days this week doing the necessary paperwork to help my business grow.
As we know, technology changes constantly. Small business owners have to hop on the tech train. Some understand the trends and the importance of utilizing technology for growth. Some entrepreneurs just are not on board. Just as I believe in the power of your voice, I believe in the power of social media.
It can be tough finding and maintaining steady clients. For some, finding capital can be a challenge. There are days when you just want to give up. Don’t do it! Surround yourself with positive people who will encourage you. You also need to have people in your corner who will tell you the truth, good and bad. But, get rid of the dream killers.
I absolutely love gadgets! This coming from a person who back in 2009 did not even know how to use a flash drive. I had a computer that ran Windows 95 and no internet service. (You know those old PCs. Don’t judge me! LOL) Things have changed drastically for me. Let’s bring it forward to my original statement – I love gadgets. Social media is a daily part of my life. In fact, a hot spot/projector and a smartwatch are just a couple of items in my toolkit.
It appears technology and social media are here to say. So, embrace them! It is so crucial to keep up and stay connected. Studies show 92 percent of marketers say social media campaigns have increased web traffic and 78 percent say it generates more quality leads. Bottom line, small businesses must utilize social media. Don’t be afraid of it.
You can’t forget about apps on mobile devices either. There are so many that can help advance your company, product and brand. You have to keep up with the changing times. So, be on the lookout for my continued use of technology, gadgets and apps to enhance “The Power of Your Voice.”
