I know some business do taxes quarterly. Some small businesses get their taxes done annually. I am just glad tax season is over for me. I have paid Uncle Sam and now it’s time to make a fresh start. High growth entrepreneurs, join me in this session! This is a great time to clean your business.
I continue to learn in my new venture as a business lady. Just when I thought I was on a roll and had everything under control, a more seasoned business owner threw a curve ball. That messed up ball is the tax man. As a start-up business (with just one person), I thought this tax thing was going to be easy. I have held on to my receipts. I track how much I make and how much I pay subcontractors. I set aside money for taxes.
There are often interesting conversations when I am sitting in the sauna at the gym. The ladies and I talk about anything and everything. The other day, we discussed mortgage rates, insurance and credit scores. We were looking for options on ways to protect ourselves and our investments. This led me to, of course, think about it from a small business owner’s perspective.
